Three years of BMM Advertising taught me nothing. It took Air Deccan's inflight magazine to make me see the light. I stand in awe, and humbly share with you the pinnacle of Indian advertising:

CSS owns everything.
Dreamweaver is my bitch.
But IE6 must die.

Do swing by www.digantik.com in the next five days and you'll see my first major attempt at web design (and also the reason I've been completely MIA for the last month). I didn't do it entirely on my own and I am aware of at least a dozen glaring errors, but I've gone mad over this thing and I'm totally kicked that it's finally up.

EDIT: The site is now permanently housed here

Ye gads. Look where this year has taken me...

Saturday, December 16, 2006

Last night I had my first hot shower in four months.
Last night I ate real chapattis. Off a glass plate. Sitting at a real dining table.
Last night I pushed the buttons on a microwave and heard it bleep and grind to life.
Last night I was online past 10pm.
Last night I used a landline telephone. And didn't have to run anywhere or gyrate wildly to hear the other person.
This morning I woke up on a comfortable mattress.
This morning I read the Mumbai Mirror, Mumbai Newsline and Bombay Times.
This morning I did not haggle with a rickshaw driver.
This afternoon I watched Star World and Zee Cafe. Crystal clear.
This afternoon I didn't have to deal with any firewall blocking a site I want to visit.
This afternoon I didn't have to go out to get lunch or decide between Maggi and Cup-o-Noodles.
This evening I didn't have to ask thirty people if they were going home anytime soon.
This evening I got a stable wifi signal from somewhere outside.
This evening I signed into Xanga and Orkut from my default browser without a hitch.
Tonight I'm going to eat mutton and a vegetable other than cauliflower for dinner. And nothing fermented.

24 hours. Damn, it feels good to be home.

PS: Am sitting and staring at a giant cardboard box with the words SONY BRAVIA emblazoned across the front. Such pleasure! :)
